what a personal media profile means

A personal media profile allows someone to demonstrate thir qualifications on the internet by
presenting their work and ability to would be employers and they are able to back this up by
using a showcase portfilio, which will have lots of different types of media products that they
have produced and created, which will demonstrate their technica and creative ability.

He also has a bio/contact section on his website so people who would like to enquire about hireing him can get in contact, his bio also features some of his qualifications.

work she has done and the productions she has worked on i.e. Luther
and Peaky Blinders. In her website she has included her contact i
nformation and partiularly her linkedin acount as this is a direct way that
emoployers may choose to contact her.

Why a personal portfolio would need to be repurposed

 Purpose

Ther purpose of an educational portfolio is so that it deomstrates to universities or colleges the
completion of academic work and course work which demonstrates you creative
and technical ability and also your theoretical and academic knowledge of a subject.

The purpose of an industry portfolio that a working profetional would be to demonstrate to
employers and clients their previouse work in a certain industry or field, this would also include
contact infomation and booking information if required for a job.

Depending on the intended purpose of the profile you should adjust your content depending on
who is looking at you work and depends on what skills you are trying to display. i.e. if you were
using a portfolio which you had used for a university application for a job application you would
be required to repurpose your portfilio fo rthe particualr pathway i.e. if you are applying for a
print job you may be required to present your graphic design work in the format in a physical
format which it is designed to be consumed in rather than a digital format.

change of platform

You may need to change platform depending on the type of job you are trying to apply for i.e. if
you are applying for a job in the print industry it may be better to display your work as a physical
portfolio to better represent your work or you may need to change your physical platform into a
digital platform to make it easier to distribute and share your portfolio.

digitise

A personal portfolio may need to be digitised if you were needing to show multiple file types i.e.
audio visual products along with JPEG files. Another reason you may need to digities a physical
portfolio is to make it quick and easy to transfer.

considerations

If you were to change a educatioal portfolio to a industry portfolio you would need to make your
portfolio more about the completed products and their and less about how you met the marking
criteria and make it more about the work you have done for a client.
